"The biggest risk is not taking any risk. In a world that's changing really quickly,
the only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is not taking risks."
- Mark Zucherberg
Developing your techniques
The aim of this document is to offer inspiration to you as you complete a series of experimental, high-risk works of art throughout the first term of your A-level. You might choose to follow the instructions carefully, mix-and-match ideas, or come up with your own. Whatever you do, use this as an opportunity to try something you haven't done before, e.g. add a 3D element to your work, paint onto unconventional surfaces, use unconventional tools to apply your paint/medium, etc. If everything you are trying is successful, you're probably not taking big enough risks!
